Visual happiness

I want to share some pictures with you.
First of all I’ll show you some pictures of my kickboxing team. I’m training for such a long time and I haven’t posted any pictures of them yet.
So from left to right my trainer (Joseph), a trainer from Madang who had to flee because someone was threatening to kill him (Andy) and the first guy to kick my ass in a sparring game (Obe). It’s kind of dark so the pictures are of poor quality.

And of course, the entire team. Although entire. Not everyone showed up.

I’m just going to jump from one subject to the other here, so bare with me. Last Sunday I did something I thought I would never do in PNG. I’m doing development work and I’m playing … golf. Yes it’s unbelievable. I thought it to be a stupid game, where you just ram the ball across the course. But let me tell me, it’s not as easy as that. I took some pictures of Dylan, Joanna and me when trying to hit the ball. The things you have to think about. You can see the difference in postures. We only managed 9 holes and not the full 18. I was exhausted and frustrated. When your body becomes tired and your frustrated the ball seems to laugh at you.

Last weekend I borrowed my camera to a friend and he took some very interesting pictures of a singsing (a group of people that dance and sing). Mum, you might be interested to know that we are going to this place. Walk around in the bush and sleep in a house kunai (traditional house made out of bush material).

Of course church services are a mix of traditional and western ideas. The church is a place made out of bush material.

The choir coming in.

That’s it.
