First tour

In honour a deceased member of the Kelme cycling team we cycled the first tour of the season.

Heleen and I cycled a total of 105 km. Towards the end some members got jittery and wanted to be the first to cross the finish line. Those were 20 km of gruelling hardship. Doing 35 km/h plus for an extended time is not something you want to do during the first trip. But the legs stills seem to work. A lot of training still before the Amstel Gold race.

My kind of music

Yesterday I was in Deventer with Petra and Harte. After a lovely cheese fondue we sat down behind youtube and started listening to the Kink top 1400. What seemed like only several songs later, it was actually three hours later. Awesome time.

A century

Yesterday I was part of a celebration. Heleen’s grandmother reached a century in age. One hundred years old! Next to that she was born in a leap year. So actually she’s only 25.

Seeing all her relatives fussing over her sort of gave her an aura of a matriarch. She reminded me a lot of my own grandmother on my mum’s side. Fiercely independent, intelligent, strong willed, on top of everything that’s going on in the family, a tough woman who was alive during both world wars, extremely blue eyes and she said I was the nicest of all the boyfriends Heleen ever had. In short, she won me over :)

Mac stuff

Heleen bought herself a macbook pro.

Damn, that thing is sexy. I love it already. What makes it really good is that she bought an airport express as well.

This means I’m now able to send music wireless from my laptop to the stereo.

Very cool.

The old box

Since I’m moving to Heleen’s apartment all my stuff has to be sorted out. And what do you know I found my graduation video in 2002 and some pictures. Funny that.
