Shazam

16012009

Iphone rocks. It has this little gadget on it called Shazam which allows you to record a piece of music. It will then analyse it and give you the name of the number you just listened to. I find this rather incredible. You’re in your car, hear a piece of music, put on your iphone and it will tell you what song it is.

Practical placement

I started my five Tuesday practical placement at another OCA office in Duiven (near Arnhem). Kind a cool to see people do things in a different way. You get a chance to talk about your work in a very constructive way.

Now I have a sense of direction like a pigeon (‘][‘ shut up), but seeing as I’m going to be driving around the Netherlands a lot to places I don’t know, I’ve decided to buy a navigation gizmo.
Under the header: “boys and their toys”; meet my “turn-right-at-the-next-corner” thingamagicky.

Interesting Sunday

The Radboud university exists 85 years and they organized a huge spectacle in Nijmegen town. They wanted to show Nijmegen what you can study at the uni and make it accessible to kids.

Maybe you want to learn ICT and know how to hack chipcards.

Maybe you want to become a pediatrician and treat kids.

Or you want to study physics.

At the neuropsychology department they showed us how they experimented with motorized buggies and two drivers to see how you steer around a circuit without talking about it. We saw men driving around the circuit in couples being hopeless at it. Unfortunately a couple of women drove around like they never did anything else.

Walking around town we also saw a lot of street performances by kids. This girl was awesome on drums.

Or the band Nighthawks at the diner named after a record of Tom Waits.

After such positive energy we had to behave like I normally do.

How things work

You’ll be able to comment on the different categories and from time to time I’ll add an extra page. There is no possibility to comment on a page. You can however reflect on pages by commenting on them in my other posts. This will keep things, if everything works out fine, orderly.
I almost forgot; I’ll do my posting in English. This will enable non-Dutch speakers to also read my posts. Please feel free to comment on my posts in Dutch if this is more convenient to you.
